Alain Caron - Missing You

Now a transcription from one of my all time favorite bass players - Alain Caron. I first heard Alain Caron on the UZEB world tour CD (double album, get it!). First of all I was blown away by his terrific slap/funk technique, then I heard him on fretless, Wow! To top it off, the live CD features an unplugged set, with Caron on upright bass. He executes the head/tune of Donna Lee effortlessly up the Octave!

The transcription below is of a tune called Missing You. It is a solo piece originally performed on six string fretless, but again, it is just about playable on a regular four string. The track is from an album called " Basse Contre Basse" a duo with fellow French Canadian double bassist Michel Donato.

In the past this album is unavailable in the UK or US (?) But now you can get a copy on Amazon.com.just listen and weep to Caron's perfect fretless intonation!

Note: The whole transcription is written an Octave lower than the original.
